Brightness refers to the physical quantity of the intensity of light (reflection) on the surface of a luminous body (reflector). The human eye observes the light source from one direction, and the ratio of the light intensity in this direction to the area of the light source "seen" by the human eye is defined as the unit brightness of the light source, that is, the luminous intensity per unit projected area. The unit of brightness is candela/square meter (cd/m2), and brightness is a person's perception of the intensity of light.
The brightness of the TFT-LCD touch monitor refers to the brightness of the screen, and the unit is candela per square meter (cd/m2) or nits, which is the candlelight per square meter. At present, there are two ways to improve the brightness of the display screen, one is to increase the light transmission rate of the LCD panel, and the other is to increase the brightness of the background light.

The above three situations can be seen. When the device is used indoors, the brightness of the touch monitor is about 300nits, and the working temperature is 0 ~ 50 °C. When used outdoors, it can be divided into the environment with obstructions and the environment without obstructions. If there is an obstructing environment, the brightness of the LCD screen should reach about 500~1000nits to be readable, and the working temperature is -20 ~ 70 °C. Another environment with no obstructions at all, the brightness of the LCD screen should be greater than or equal to 1000~2500nits, the working temperature is -30 ~ 85 °C, and the LCD screen can be read when used outdoors.
When selecting a TFT-LCD touch monitor, it should be noted that a brighter TFT-LCD is not necessarily a better TFT-LCD, because it often makes people feel uncomfortable when the display screen is too bright. On the one hand, it is easy to cause visual fatigue. At the same time, it also reduces the contrast between pure black and pure white, affecting the performance of gradation and grayscale.
The brightness of the touch monitor is the main parameter that affects the price of the LCD screen. Therefore, when choosing, it is not a direct selection of a high-brightness LCD screen, but an LCD screen with appropriate brightness according to the use environment.
