Buying a touch monitor now is not the same as before. In the past, it was bought in the physical store, and the actual effect of the display can be seen on the spot, which is very convenient to choose. Now touch monitors are all bought online, so we have to learn to understand the quality of the product from the specifications and parameters. How many parameters does a product have, and which ones are related to image quality? Today we will talk about this content.
Resolution
Resolution refers to the number of pixels that a touch display can display, and is closely related to the fineness of the picture. We know that in a screen of the same area, the more pixels, the more delicate the picture, so from the perspective of picture quality, the higher the resolution of the display, the better. Taking the current mainstream 16:9 ratio products as an example, there are three main resolutions: 1920×1080, 2560×1440, and 3840×2160. The number of pixels at 3840×2160 is 4 times that of 1920×1080, so 4K picture should be more detailed.
Of course, we should not be blind to the highest resolution. On the one hand, the higher the resolution, the higher the price of the product, and the higher the performance requirements of the host. If you buy a high-resolution product, you may need to upgrade the host, which is a consideration for economic strength. On the other hand, high resolution is not always the best. Small screen and high resolution will result in too small pixel pitch, and the displayed font size will be very small. The picture is delicate enough but the eyes are too uncomfortable.
color gamut
Color gamut is a method of encoding colors. For touch monitors, it refers to the richness of colors that can be displayed. The larger the color gamut, the richer the colors it can display, and vice versa.
The color gamut space corresponding to different usage scenarios is also different. The most common one in our daily life is the sRGB color gamut. It represents the three basic pigments of red, green and blue. When the sRGB color gamut value is 100%, it means that the monitor can display the colors in the full sRGB color gamut space.
color accuracy
Regarding color accuracy, this is easier to understand, which means that the touch display is not color cast. The smaller the average color accuracy Delta E is, the better. Now some consumer products have also added factory color calibration, and the average color accuracy Delta E is less than 2, which has reached the level of many professional products.
When buying a touch monitor, if you look at the other aspects of the two products, if one is marked with its Delta E average, the color performance will be more reliable.
color depth
The parameter of color depth has been paid more and more attention recently. It is represented by a power of 2 index. The higher the bit number, the higher the color depth value, which means that the touch display can express more colors. 8-bit color depth can present about 16.77 million colors, and 10-bit color depth can express about 1.07 billion colors. The latter can present more colors, and the transition between colors is more natural.
